Pushkinskie hills

State memorial historical and literary museum in the name of A.S. Pushkin, including the village territories Mikhailovskoe, Trigorskoe, Petrovskoe and Holly hills, renamed in 1924 year into Pushkinskie hills, and also Svyztogorsky cloister. Here at this territory was developing the talent of Great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin, and by walls of the Uspensky cathedral and Svyatogorsky cloister was buried Pushkin.
Before this historical place was officially opened for visitors, many years of reconstruction had passed. It was after in 1922 year all buildings of Pushkin's farmsteads were burnt and ransacked.

Reconstruction works were after the World War II. The village «Mikhailovskoe» and Svyatogorsky cloister was reconstructed from 1947 to 1949 years. The village Trigorskoe was reconstructed in 1962 year, and Petrovskoe to 1977 year. Now more than 37000 exhibits are kept at the museum, among them – family relic of Pushkin, painting collections, graphics, photographies, rare books, icons and many others.
Svyato – Uspensky Svyatogorsky cloister is placed on the high hill near Sinitchiy hills, named so, after one herdsman was appeared the icon of God's Mother. As the result tsar Ivan IV ordered to built at that place this cloister.  Among the greatest gifts there are splinters of 15  pood ring. After XIX century this cloister was inseparably joined the name of Pushkin, who often came there in oder to bow his ancestors graves.

Chronicles, which are keeping there, helped him to write the drama «Boris Godunov». In 1992 year this cloister was returned to eparchy, having added an operating status to the cloister. Now there are living 25 novices and monks, they are engaged in natural economy, and accept many pilgrims from  the world. In time of morning and evening service, monks remind Pushkin. One can enter to this monastery, but not all places  are allowed to photograph. In the number of allowed places are ring, stair, leading to the Uspensky cathedral, and monument of Pushkin's grave. In oder to photograph other places you should ask a permission of father superior. In XVIII century this village belonged to empress Elizabeth, being a palace estate of Mikhailovskoe village. But in 1742 year by order of reigned empress a part of land came to an eternal using of Pushkin's grandfather, a blackmoor of Peter the Great. Thanks to Pushkin's grandfather, in the village was appeared estate with monastery and wing, having become the museum. In the nanny's room are kept poet's autographs with nanny images, devoted to first month of exile, at living room there are portraits of Pushkin's relatives. In 1899 year at this estate settled son of poet Grigoriy, who repaired this house and built one more buildings. The World War II fully demolished architectural buildings of this village, as the result all buildings should be reconstructed.

Estate «Trigorskoe», or house – museum Osipov – Wolf is famous its park, in which there is a bench, according to the novel «Evgeniy Onegin» on this bench sat the main hero of this novel, thinking about life and the universe. Here there is a clock, the most interesting venture of park, representing itself gnomon.  With this estate are joined many episodes of poet's life. There he mat with a nice of Catherine the Great, Anna Kern.

Estate «Petrovskoe» is a patrimonial estate of Pushkin. There is a souse museum of Pushkin's grandfather life, where is represented the real interior of rooms. There are many wooden toys, which are made by peasants and  exhibited at this house.
Environs of this three farmsteads are kept all Pushkin history. These places differ their picturesqueness and romantic quality. People, coming to these lands, absorb in thoughts. That;s why we advise you to visit a small village Voronich, which is placed at distance of 3 km from Mikhailovskoe, Savkina hill, Velie ( 25 km from Pushkinskie hills), mill in the village Bugrva, which is connected with Pushkin poem «Mermaid».
