Resorts of Anapa
The Solenoe-Yantar lake
It is situated in 40 – 45 km from Anapa, on the sea shore, in the place where at cape Iron Horn Anapa sand bay-bar finishes. The resort is a part of Temryuksky area. A wonderful beach of silica sand with mixture of cockle-shells and pebble, width of which reaches 100 m, divides the Solenoe lake from the sea. The beaches turn into Bugazskaya spit, which, in its turn, serves as the boundary between the sea and Bugazsky estuary, being a part of estuaries Tsokur – Bugazsky – Kiziltashsky, connected with each other. The Solenoe lake is the most valuable deposit silt mud with brinish concentration of slush and high concentration of sulphates. Healing mud is actively exhausted and transfer in mud baths of Anapa and Gelendzhik.
Resort factors
Favourable climate (in warm season of the year), healing mud, vine, excellent beaches and a shallow offshore strip, allowing to arrange here a course of sanatorium treatment for children and teenagers.
Blagoveschensky resort
The resort is situated in 20 km to north-west from Anapa, between the Black sea and estuaries Vityazevsky and Kiziltashsky. From land stanitsa Blagoveschenskaya is connected by a narrow isthmus between estuaries, along which a highway to Anapa passes. The stanitsa borders upon Temryuksky area. Resort season here lasts from June to September inclusive. Extension of wonderful beaches makes up about 7 km. Almost all recreation centers are situated on the sea shore (in 1-2 km from the stanitsa). Resort factors: Favourable climate, sandy beaches, sea swimming, medical table varieties of vine, estuary brine with mineralization 35-40 g/l, silt hydrogen-sulphidous mud of silts, characterized by significant supplies of peloids, the largest in russia.
Succo-Utrish resort
The resort is situated in the foothills of the Northern Caucasus in the Abrau peninsula, including mountainous terrain from Su-Pseha to Mishako. Mountains, height of which reaches 400 m, abruptly descending to the southern and the south-west shore, tower beginning from Succo, in 17 km to the south-east from Anapa. Inside – wooded table-land. Varvarovskaya chap, Succo field, Utrish Bolshoi and Maliy, Sukhoi estuary.
Due to less ventilation and rich lignose air moisture here is little higher than in Anapa. Places, remoter from the shore, are better protected from wind. Former, in time immemorial, a huge gravitational landslide. It is an only such cape on the Black sea shore. It is a wonderful monument of the nature with ancient trees of Preglacial ages.
At the beginning of 20 century Succo-Utrish is considered as a resort place. In reference book “The Black sea of Caucasus” there are the following information: “In 50 km to the south from Anapa – Succo – a poetically beautiful, high, wooded shore and a peninsula in earl Loris-Melikov’s estate, rich with hunting large animals, with fish works. A wonderful grove of yew-trees, which became a black swan on the shore, has been kept in the estate”.
Succo resort
The picturesque valley of Succo is situated to the south from Anapa (extension is about 7 km and width in some places – to 750 m). The name descends from a river, width of which made up 3-4 m and depth – only 0.25 and 0.5 m. Succo is translated as “wild boars’ pond”, “valley of water” and even “son of water”, “cold water” however there are other variants “sea pig”, where “Su” is water, and “cco” – pig or dolphin. Dolphins are often seen in the bay.
In the valley there is a small settlement Succo (about 2- km from Anapa), situated in 1 km from the sea, with which it is connected by a highway. A narrow beach (1 km) consists of fine, medium and coarse pebbles. Large depth begins just in 2-3 m. Water is clearer than in Anapa. Microclimate of Succo differs a little from Anapa one. Precipitation fall oftener, north-eastern wind is weaker, in summer It is not so hot, winter is a little warmer.
In ancient times in the valley Sinds and in the middle centuries – Natkhuays, one of Adygei tribes. In the middle of 19 century aul Succo numbered 200 houses. Its inhabitants were engaged in agriculture, trading and plundering inroads. As the result of the Caucasian war natives of the valley left Succo. Waste valley was devoted to dachas and estates.
In 1869 earl Loris-Melnikov got these lands from the emperor. He was the greatest landowner. Pogroms of Armenians happened in 1890-1896 in Turkey. Several families found a shelter in Succo land. The earl was a native of Armenia. At the beginning of 20 century valley Succo became a lived-in place with estates, gardens and vineyard.
Many legends are connected with Succo. So, among Adygeis there is a legend about Prometheus. As it is known he was chained to a huge rock, seen from the sea from all sides. Just the same one is situated in 2 km from the settlement on the bend of the mountain on Bolshoi Utrish. Its height is 150 m. Probably, Prometheus suffered here for many centuries for that he had given fire to people. A lighthouse was settled in honour of this on the rock.
Semigorje resort
Semigorje is situated in 27 km from Anapa on Anapsko-Natukhaevsky steppe edge, on hilly wooded foothills. Landscape in Semigorje area is very picturesque. Relief of the area consists of seven small hills, covered with wood. Local Cossacks called springs of Semigorje – springs of saint Vladimir. Later in 1913 doctor Budzinsky opened here sanatoriums “Luchezarnaya”, “Svetlana”, “Vozdushnoe”. Only several stones and trees of a sanatorium allay have been kept till our days. Methane exudes out of water under tracery awning of recent construction. Near – a grove of secular oaks, the most ancient tree is 600.
In vicinity of Anapa there are many small lakes. One of them has an interesting history. It is the Zmeinoe lake. Formerly it was a fresh lake, feeding with underground springs. In its vicinity there were many snakes. Then a crosspiece between the lake and the sea was blew up and turned into a bay for fishing vessels. Snakes have adopted and now swim in the light-salted water. If you go along the sea shore to the south-east, in 2 km you will see near the wild beach a small waterfall. You may come here for the whole day. Here the water is the clearest and a pebble beach is excellent. In 8 km – Maliy Utrish.
