Resorts of Tuapse
Resort Dzhubga
Resort Dzhubga begins from the border with Gelendzhik resort area and ends in settlement of Lermontov. The first settlement which we will meet on our way after leaving of resort Gelendzhik, will be Bzhid. This name was given after name of an Adygei tribe. The name can be translated as “Sunny ray”. Bzhid is interesting for the fact that from it you can come right to the sea into bay Inal and in Blue bay. Bay Inal was called after the name of legendary Adygei prince Inal which is considered to be one of the first preachers of Christianity on the Black sea coast. They suggest that he was born in a Greek colony Nikopiya of about 400 years old. It is known very little about Inal’s service. Actually, only the name of the bay with a narrow string of a stony beach reminds about him. Blue bay acquired its name because of color of rocks which its bottom and beach are made of. They consist of very grey-green limestone. Such color of rock gives blue tint of water in the bay. There is another reason due to which the bay is considered blue.
A massive bed of blue clay stretches to the very water here right from the mountain. Springs wash away the mountain and at the bottom of which a small lake, full of liquid mud, forms. Vacationists gather form all neighbouring recreation centers, which are over a hundred on the shores of bays Inal and Blue, to have a mud bath.
Dzhubga from Adygei means “Valley of winds”. But there is a more romantic version of settlement origination. A rich and a noble warrior lived in this place very long ago. He had a beautiful daughter. The father couldn’t even imagine himself what merits a youth, to whom he would marry off her daughter, should have.
The sever father prohibited her to walk in the daytime. Many darers tried to aske her marriage but found the death. And one day a not rich and not noble young man could make his way into the garden. They met each other and fell in love with each other. Having swindled guards they run away. On the mountain they built a house and began to live happily. But the father couldn’t humble his defeat. For many years he had been looked for them. And when he found, he ordered to kill the young man and return her daughter home by force. But Dzhubga couldn’t live without her loved husband. She rushed from the precipice into the water and drowned. Since that time the river is called Dzhubga (Night beauty).
The first rest house in Dzhubga was opened in 1935. At the same time A park, which is now a national decoration of the whole settlement, was laid at the same time. In the park on the right bank of the river there is a small dolmen. Extension of Dzhubga beach is about 800 m. It consists mostly of sand though there are pebble and stone lots. The sea bottom at the shore is even without rocky prominences. Depth increases gradually.
Dzhubga bay limits itself to cape Shapsukho from the east and to mountain Ezhik (Hedgehog) – from the west. The mountain is really resembles hedgehog which came to the sea to drink water. Auto station “Dzhubga”. Situated in the center of the settlement, is a large transit transport junction in the settlement. In the station there is a hotel, a restaurant and a market. A dinosaur stands at the way out of settlement Dzhubga in the direction of Tuapse, to the left from the road. It is a work of a national sculpture which opened a small popular museum in his house.

Settlement Nebug is situated in 15 km from Tuapse at the place of emptying of the river with the same name into the sea. Name Nebug is originated from the Adygei language and means “Bull’s eye”, by other version – “Widely eyed river”.
However there is an opinion that name Nebug was originated when migrants, coming to the shores of the Black sea from the Bug river, and having seen the mountain river exclaimed: “Yes, it is not Bug (ne Bug)!” Since that time it is accustomed to name “Nebug”.
Nevertheless the valley of the river is so wide that its area would be enough for a four-star hotel, several rest houses, the largest water park of Russia “Dolphin” and up to date dolphinarium. For the last years Nebug has turned into a real center of active rest on water. Practically all types of entertainments are available for any vacationist.
