Tuapse sights
To begin examine the town is better from Primorsky boulevard. A wonderful view is opened from this boulevard – the area of water of Tuapse port. In Boulevard among deep subtropical greenery is situated the town park with attractions and several monuments.
On the coast with not large seaport buildings there is a passenger mooring. By south from the mooring is well seen oil pier and south mole. Tuapse port stands in the third position in the country by volume of freight traffic.
On the square of Revolution near the Palace of Culture of seamen, in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the October revolution was mounted an obelisk as trihedral bend.
Not far from it there is a control tower of maritime port, represented itself a concrete spire, ended by laced glass ball. To the left from obelisk is placed a monument for unknown soldier and there is the Eternal Flame. This place calls the Heroes Hill. From the Eternal Flame the steep stair leads you to several observation decks, after passing them you reach the Tuapse Museum of Local Lore, which is placed in the private mansion of XIX centuries.
This museum is opened from 1948 year, it offers three exhibition halls. The own collection of shells and coral is famous and has a great popularity. By the fiftieth anniversary of the World War II, where was carried out re-exposition. The museum of local lore is located on Poletaeva, 8 st and works daily, except Monday. Near this building there is a dolmen dated of 3-2 thousands year B.C.
The most beautiful street of the town is considered K. Marks street. It represents itself the street looks like a boulevard. Two trackways are divided by the alley.
The monument of nature. There are many interesting monuments in outskirts of the town. You should begin with Pushkinskaya street. The first part of this way passes through the range, dividing two rivers the Pauk and Tuapse. After them there is a path, which leads to the chestnut forest. To the left and right of this range there are many different sizes mass of sandstone. It is a result of weathering. Further is placed a spring, which was appeared after earthquake. One interesting waterfall (7 metres) is worthy of your attention. One of the most interesting places in Tuapse is considered - “Volchji vorota” (Wolf's gate). It is a gorge, but there are many gorges in Tuapse with such names.
In 4 km to the north-west from Tuapse is towered a great rock “Tears' rock”. It represents itself smooth wall with a height of 43 metres. Many year ago on the territory of Kadosh cape were placed a lot of fruit gardens, they were the own of tsar Akutch. This tsar had a beautiful daughter Guash, this rock was her favourite place. After her father death, she was fell in love with one strong man.
- She reciprocated her love. Guash set the place from which he was to take her. This was a rock. Guash said that it is easy to find it by a burning fire. While the girl was waiting for her lover, she decided to test his courage and cunning. She put an icon-lamp on the log and let it into the sea.
The fiancé came to the rock in rich clothes under which a chain armour was. He understood her fiancée’s ruse. He came down on horseback into the water to the fire. Stream was quick and the fire escaped the young man. When the horse submerged the young man managed only to drop his felt cloak. He was strong and cunning but his clothes and chain armour tugged him to the bottom. He reached the fire, grasped it but he hadn’t efforts to swim back.
Guash waited for his fiancé for a long time. But he didn’t return. Since that time she shed many tears, bemoaning her lover. One day she understood that she couldn’t live without him. And then she plunged from the rock into the sea.
Many years have passed since that time but people remember this story. And now local herders say that at the night when Guash died on groans, mournful songs are heard on the rock and the fire are seen above the waves. But at dawn all disappears. May be it is the truth, may be not. That's why this rock has such name.
Caves of Tuapse.
There are about 40 caves in Tuapse outskirts, but one can visit these caves only accompanied by skilled specialist.
The Nebeb's cave – represents itself a tunnel, reminding the railway one. It width is 3-4 metres, the height – 6 metres. There are a mount “Two brothers” in 4 km from the village Anastasievka.
Apart 100 km there two points – the east (921 metres) and the West (889 metres). The south slopes are vertical, the north slopes are steep. This massif is formed by Middle Jurassic period.
In 3 km from the village Altubinal is located the real creation of nature – The honey caves in the Bee mount. In every caves there are some clefts, from where the real honey runs. Millions wild bees work at this wonderful factory. Some people who tastes this honey say that there is no the tastiest honey than that.
There are several caves in the mount “Indjuk”, they have some prints of protoman, on the wall there are several notches made by stone guns. This gun is 856 m in length and located in 20 km to the north-west from the town. From this point many rocks are seen, their surfaces are pierced through many spherical deepenings, which sometimes remind the comb or stone arrays.
